The 7th annual Navy Mile is virtual this year, with registrants able to run between October 1-14.
This event supports the USNSCC, C4 Foundation and Naval Safe Harbor Foundation. By visiting The Navy Mile website (link below) you can register for a 1-mile run, 5k and/or the "Chuck Heavy" Challenge. The Chuck Heavy is in honor of Navy CPO Charles Keating IV and consists of a 1-mile run, 100 push-ups, 1-mile run, 100 air squats and another 1-mile run. Half of proceeds from those registrations go to the C4 Foundation, which provide support for active duty SEALS.
The Rogers family has organized a time on Saturday October 9 from 10:00 to 1:00 to use the Bohemia Manor High School track in Chesapeake City, MD. They will have tents and mats for anyone doing push-ups and lunges, drinks and snacks.
For anyone that wants to run the 5k you will be able to use the Bo Manor cross-country trail. Cadet Rogers will be doing the Chuck Heavy Challenge and would love to have some shipmates by his side. If you would like to participate at the Bo Manor event please contact Jeff and Noelle Rogers at jeffrogersjr@yahoo.com or 302-757-4719 (cell).
Also, after 1:00 the Rogers will be going to Patriot Acres Farm Brewery (link below) a veteran owned active farm and brewery. They typically have food trucks, live music, outdoor games and plenty of space. They have reached out to them to try to organize something special for any USNSCC families that attend but that is still in the works.
This is a great opportunity for the William E. Taylor Division to directly support the USNSCC and have some fun together.
