As part of the our American Legion Post partnership, we have the opportunity to cadets to join as Sons of The American Legion. Unfortunately this is currently limited to male cadets. The American Legion is covering the cost. This helps build their membership so would like all of our cadets to join. It's a good membership program for your resume as well.
Founded in 1932, the Sons of The American Legion exists to honor the service and sacrifice of Legionnaires. SAL members include males of all ages whose parents or grandparents served in the U.S. military and were eligible for American Legion membership. Members of The American Legion, American Legion Auxiliary and Sons of The American Legion comprise the Legion Family, which has a combined membership of nearly 3 million. Although SAL has its own membership, the organization is not a separate entity. Rather, SAL is a program of The American Legion. [https://www.legion.org/sons]

Sons of the American Legion Application PDF |
Some of us had already filled out applications, but they required parent signatures, so need to do them again, and we'd like to have everyone eligible in the unit become a member. Again, unfortunately this is limited to male cadets. We are looking into the American Legion Auxiliary for female cadets.
